Merry Meet 2016

Aug 11 -14, 2016, (Thurs – Sun)

Fairfield Inn & Suites, San Jose Airport in CA

MerryMeet is the annual gathering for Covenant of the Goddess (CoG) and includes two days of workshops, rituals, lectures, local vendors and entertainment. Concurrently, during MerryMeet, the Covenant conducts its annual business meeting known as Grand Council (GC). GC is the forum for its members (covens and solitaries) to engage in a consensus process to discuss issues relevant to the operations of CoG, review national bylaw changes necessary in a changing world, to decide matters which require deliberation by the full membership and elect the national board of officers. Grand Council provides a unique opportunity to observe the process of decision making utilizing the consensus process.

ALERT! – Update 7/18/16 MM Hotel room Reservations – Extended to July 22

The NEW Deadline is Friday, July 22 for hotel rooms. (The hotel has graciously given us an extension before they put our unused rooms  back into their inventory.)
Update 06/23/16.

Due to the monumental screw-up by the Marriott hotel reservation system through the 800 number, the room reservation process has changed.

1. The Cut-Off date for our room reservations is extended till July 18.

2. Room reservations for our block will be directly handled by Stanley at the number 408-453-3133 (ask for Stanley), week days between 9-5 pm PDT

3. I’ve expanded our room block to make additional rooms available. We currently have 3 King rooms and 12 double Queen room for Thurs, Fri and Sat nights. No expansion for Wed Aug 10 – at our rate is possible.

Wed. – 1 K bed – $132; 2 Q beds – $149;   Th. thru Sat – 1 K bed – $114; 2 Q beds – $134 plus about $20 a night for tax etc. (Updated 6/10/16:) But the woman I talked to found those rates with a Week day code and a Weekend code.  It looks like things will need to be manually adjusted after arrival. I successfully reserved a room.

A complimentary full breakfast comes with a room along with a frig and microwave in each room.

For non-hotel guests and other meals, there is a Chipotle, Vietnamese and Chinese places, a Subway along with a Starbucks and a Chevron mini-mart (open 24h.) – all within a half block. The light rail across the street can take people towards down town San Jose for other food options.

The Palm Terrace (Breakfast room) is ours from noon to 10pm; it’s adjacent to the pool and there is a small outdoor sitting area. All our MM members can use the pool. The hotel Breakfast room will be great for vendors and classes.  This comfy place can be used for an evening reception and ritual; there is a possibility for an outdoor ritual around the pool adjacent to the area. We have exclusive use of the Palm Terrace room after noon and share the pool area with other hotel guests.

For CoG’s Grand Council the Garden Terrace room is a separate building between the hotel and the restaurants. Virtual attendance will be set up there.

NCLC has already started sharing ideas for the Leadership Institute on Thursday, “The Future of Witchcraft”.  We think discussions of the Direction of Witchcraft in general along with specific areas of interest might be a good focus.

Workshops will be held on Thursday in both the Garden Terrace and Palm Terrace and additional workshops Friday and Saturday in the Palm Terrace. For info on presenting a workshop, or Vending: Email glenn@ancientways.com

Blessed be, Glenn Turner, Nat 2nd Officer of Covenant of the Goddess
